Maisie Catt from the UK began taking
Para Taekwondo earlier this year.

Para Taekwondo is a Korean martial art
adapted for athletes with an impairment.

She has been excelling at it since she
started in January.

So much so that she will be representing
Great Britain at the Paralympics.

Maisie had her legs amputated as a
baby after contracting meningitis.

Since 9 mo., she has walked with prosthetics
and only recently did she get blades.

Officials with the GB talent squad noticed her skills
and asked her to try out for the Paralympics.

[[Maisie Catt, GB Representative in Taekwondo at the Paralympics]]

“So I was learning the pattern, the first time learning the whole of pattern 1 and they called me and they gave me a piece of paper that said “Well done, you have been chosen for the Paralympics talent squad.”

She'll now train with the squad every month.

Trump wishes Americans a Happy Passover, Happy Easter
laurene.xu
2018-04-02    0 views
My fellow Americans, at this holy time of the year families across our nation gather in homes, churches and synagogues to light candles and to praise God.

During the sacred holiday of Passover, Jewish families around the world give thanks to God for liberating the Jewish people from bondage in Egypt and delivering them to the Promised Land of Israel.

For Christians we remember the suffering and death
of God's only son and his glorious resurrection on the third day.

On Easter Sunday we proclaim with joy: “Christ is Risen“

Both of these sacred celebrations remind us
that God's love redeems the world.

Almost 3,000 years ago the prophet Isaiah wrote:
“Darkness covers the earth, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. For the Lord will be your everlasting light.’

In America we look to the light of God to guide our steps.

We trust in the power of the Almighty for wisdom and strength and we praise our heavenly Father for the blessings of freedom and the gift of eternal life.

Happy Passover. Happy Easter. Thank you.
God bless you and God bless America.

On March 18, hundreds of people flee to the beach
to avoid the rapidly advancing flames of a bushfire in Tathra, NSW, Australia.

Several schools in affected areas were closed on Monday 19.

We felt threatened, we were worried. But there wasn’t any sign that after itself was on fire. But when that happened, it escalated very fast.

Un devoir inhabituel
laurene.xu
2018-03-10    0 views

A man beat a fellow subway rider in New York in February.

The victim was knocked out by the apparently unprovoked attack.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics.

He sustained injuries of swelling to his face and two chipped teeth.

The police identified the suspect as 24-year-old Jose Hasing of Queens on March 7.

Hasing has previously been arrested 15 times.

Police said they do not know what led the suspect to attack the other man.

Police are asking anyone with information on Hasing's whereabouts to come forward.
